
Product Introduction
CY-DALI64A is a single channel DALI gateway module that supports DT6 and DT8 protocols. It can control 16 sets of 64 drivers, has debugging and control serial ports, supports multiple driver types DIM/CW/RGB/RGBW/RGBWA, and is installed in a 35mm rail style.
Function Description:
- Built in DALI bus power supply, providing 16V voltage and a maximum supply current of 250mA for the DALI bus
- Equipped with 2 LED indicator lights, it can directly determine the working status of gateway devices
- Equipped with one manual DALI driver device installation and testing button, which can manually test the switch status of the testing device
- Equipped with RS485 control serial port and supporting Modbus RTU to DALI communication protocol
- Equipped with RS485 debugging serial port, it can connect to a PC and debug and configure the DALI system through DALI upper computer debugging software
- Debugging and controlling serial communication rate of 9600 baud rate, supporting up to 1200 meters, convenient for debugging and control

1. Communication Format Description
- 9600, N, 8, 1 (fixed and unchangeable)
- Frame Interval Time ≥ 150ms (longer data length, slower response)
- Slave Address Range: 01H-3FH (set by dial)
- Standard Modbus RTU Protocol
- Supports group address control, supports short address control, supports short address online status and fault status query
- Group Address Register Address Range: 0001H-0080H
- Short Address Register Address Range: 0081H-0280H
- Short Address Online Status Register Address Range: 0281H-028484 H
- Short address fault status register address range: 0285H-0288H
- Scene call register address: 028AH (only supports 06 function code)
- Read up to 125 registers at once

Note: DALI devices take about 30 seconds to power on and start.

Fifth and Sixth Byte 0002H - Read the value of a register starting from the specified register in the third and fourth bytes

Online status register address table
The online status synchronization function of DALI is mainly achieved through the following two methods:
(1) Instant status synchronization
When searching or configuring DALI drivers, the system will immediately perform an online status synchronization. During this process, the DALI gateway will send a status query command to the specified DALI device (i.e. driver) and synchronize the received device's online status to the corresponding register address. This method ensures that when a device is added or configured, its online status can be updated and recorded in real-time.
(2) Periodic Status Scanning
The system also automatically scans the online status of 64 DALI devices within a short address range every 10 minutes. During this cycle, the DALI gateway will sequentially send status query commands to these addresses and collect replies from each device. Subsequently, the gateway will synchronize the collected online status information to the corresponding register address. This approach ensures that the system can regularly monitor and update the online status of all DALI devices, thereby maintaining an accurate online status table.
Maintenance of Online Status Table
It is worth noting that the DALI protocol itself does not define specific status codes to represent the online status of devices. On the contrary, this function is implemented by the DALI gateway itself. The gateway will maintain an online status table to record and manage the online status of each DALI device. This table will be updated based on the results of real-time status synchronization and periodic status scanning to ensure its accuracy and real-time performance

Fault status register address table
Description:There is no specific code in the DALI protocol that directly represents the fault status of lighting fixtures, but the protocol supports the function of querying the status of lighting fixtures, including possible fault situations.
The DALI protocol is a digital addressable lighting control protocol that allows for configuration and status queries of lighting devices. Through the DALI protocol, the system can send commands to read the status information of lamps or drivers, which may include the current brightness, color temperature, power level, etc. of the lamps, as well as whether the lamps are in a fault state. However, the DALI protocol itself does not define a dedicated code to directly indicate lighting faults. On the contrary, it provides a mechanism for the system to determine the status of lighting fixtures by sending status query commands and receiving responses. If the lighting fixture does not respond to commands as expected, or the response data indicates that its working status is abnormal (such as output illumination far below the set value, or internal errors reported by the driver, etc.), the system can determine that the lighting fixture may have a fault.
Therefore, in DALI systems, determining the fault status of lighting fixtures is usually achieved by comprehensively analyzing the response data and other relevant information of the fixtures, rather than relying on a specific fault code.
